About Linda
Linda Miller MSc(Dist), BSc(Hons), Cert Ed, C. Psychol, AFBPsS
As an educational psychologist with many years experience in education, Linda has worked within both the independent and public sectors and has a specialism in Autism and related disorders and in Behaviour. She is a Chartered Psychologist and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. Linda is registered with the Health Care & Professionals Council as a Practitioner Psychologist.

Linda has had a wide range of experience working in the field of autism and special needs and has worked closely with schools, care homes and parents to provide consultation and assessment, advice on behaviour management, providing training and in developing policy and provision. Linda’s work has also included managerial and strategic responsibility within the field of education and autism as well as individual casework. This includes experience in managing a team of multi-disciplinary professionals, working as Operations Director for an autism specific group of schools, individual assessment, working with schools and parents and attendance as an expert witness at Special Educational Needs Tribunals.
Linda has played a key role in the development of Local Authority autism policy in the UK, and contributed to the national Autism Good Practice Guidance.
Linda has carried out research in the field of autism and related disorders and has written several articles in autism specific magazines. In September 2009, Linda published “Practical Behaviour Management Solutions for Children and Teens with Autism” which introduced the 5P Approach.
As part of the ever expanding 5P Approach, in March 2013, Linda's second book, Developing Flexibility Skills in Children and Teens with Autism - the 5P Approach to Thinking , Learning and Behaviour, was published by Jessica Kingsley. As well as addressing the key issue of flexibility, the book introduces some new assessment tools and resources.
Since then, the 5P Approach and Linda's 5P Approach Consultancy has developed and grown. The 5P Approach is now used widely in schools, care homes and organisations and by parents, teachers and a range of other professionals across the UK and now also in other parts of the world. Linda's 5P Approach Training courses are always extremely popular and well regarded and always in demand.
